Hearing the backstory behind the track, we headed straight to Yoji’s official YouTube Music channel to experience the highly anticipated lyric video.
Right away, the song radiates an infectious energy that lifts your mood instantly. From the first beats and lyrics, there’s an undeniable sense of elation. The visuals of clouds and stars in the lyric video are charming and dreamy, perfectly complementing the song’s uplifting vibe. The soft, gentle beats combined with bright and cheery synths create an atmosphere that feels warm and inviting.
Yoji’s vocal performance is a standout, powerful yet controlled, with a crystal-clear and smooth delivery that effortlessly soars. The opening lyrics:
“There’s always gonna be rain / There’s always gonna be pain / But we can paint the clouds,”
- hit like a lyrical remedy, more effective than anything you could buy off a pharmacy shelf. It’s a message that’s both relatable and inspiring, making it nearly impossible to feel down while listening.
As the beat intensifies, the song takes on a dynamic R&B pulse, signaling its dance-floor potential. With just a few production tweaks, Yoji masterfully shifts the track from pure feel-good pop to an irresistible groove. A rhythmic clap adds a fresh layer of depth, and the sultry nuances in her vocals introduce a more intimate, passionate tone that elevates the song even further.
We also learned that Yoji is a deeply accomplished musician. With a Master’s degree in Popular Music, she has honed her craft as a singer, pianist, songwriter, and self-producer. That versatility shines through in every aspect of her music.
Midway through "Paint The Clouds," Yoji pulls out all the stops with a soaring, operatic belt infused with soulful intensity. The slight falsetto undertone is striking and sets her apart. She has a distinctive vocal phrasing that makes for an exhilarating listen, keeping the audience fully engaged.

That statement alone proves just how much heart and soul she pours into her music.
Produced by the talented 2thousand5 (aka Nico Bryant), the song is exceptionally well-engineered, and the entire team deserves major credit for delivering such a polished and high-quality final cut.
