What’s Wrong With New York?, the debut album from rising sensation The Dare, has officially dropped via Republic Records/Universal Music Canada.

Earning immediate widespread praise, The New York Times hailed the album as “an ode to the wild, youthful spirit of New York City” and described it as “a sharp 10-track showcase of Smith’s masterful production talents.”

Fresh off launching his inaugural North American headline tour, The Dare captivated fans with a sold-out performance at New York’s Webster Hall. The entirely sold-out tour spans major cities like Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and more. For a complete list of dates, check the tour itinerary below or visit itsthedare.com/tour for tickets and further details.

What’s Wrong With New York was crafted over the past year, with recording sessions taking place between The Dare’s home and studio in New York City. It features his breakout single “Girls”—a viral sensation boasting over 32 million streams—and includes previous fan-favorites like “You’re Invited,” “Perfume,” and “Good Time.” The album showcases collaborations with acclaimed artists and producers such as Dylan Brady (100 gecs), Emile Haynie (Lana Del Rey, FKA twigs, Dua Lipa), Romil Hemnani (Brockhampton), Chris Greatti (Yves Tumor, Yeule), and Isaac Eiger (Strange Ranger), among others.

This album comes on the heels of an exhilarating period for The Dare, who recently scored his first U.K. #1 alongside Charli XCX and Billie Eilish with their track “Guess,” which he produced for the deluxe edition of Brat. Over the summer, he joined Charli XCX on tour, performing at her iconic Boiler Room show in Ibiza and her debut Brat live performances in New York and Los Angeles.

The Dare is the solo endeavor of singer, songwriter, and producer Harrison Patrick Smith. He burst onto the scene with his viral hit “Girls” and quickly followed up with his acclaimed The Sex EP, garnering rave reviews from critics and artists alike. His electrifying live performances have sold out venues across North America and Europe, while his legendary DJ sets—perfected at his infamous Freakquencies parties in downtown Manhattan—have provided the soundtrack for events hosted by Gucci, Celine, and many more. He’s shared stages and collaborated with the likes of Charli XCX, Yves Tumor, Water From Your Eyes, and a wide array of other notable artists.
