Suki Waterhouse, the multifaceted singer-songwriter, model, and actress, launches into the new year with electrifying energy, unveiling her dazzling new single, "OMG." Co-written alongside Natalie Findlay and Jules Apollinaire, this track is a bold, synth-driven rock anthem with a mischievous edge.
"OMG" pulses with magnetic '90s-inspired guitars, groovy basslines, and thunderous drums, perfectly complementing Waterhouse’s ethereal vocals. The lyrics delve into the bittersweet ache of a toxic romance and the struggle to rediscover oneself amidst the chaos. With haunting intensity, the chorus bursts to life as she sings, "Oh my God / Take me back the way that I was / Oh my God / You know I only tried to play your games / So you cannot forget my name / You and I, are not the same / You always had it easy." The song is a cathartic anthem of reflection and defiance.
Discussing the creative journey behind the track, Waterhouse revealed to Rolling Stone: "We started it, shelved it, and months later came back with a spark of new energy. It’s such a delicate, maddening process—walking that fine line between intellect and instinct. Writing forces you to let go and just surrender to the moment."
The accompanying music video, helmed by visionary director Émilie Richard-Froozan, is a visual feast. Shot in vibrant Panavision, it features Waterhouse channeling timeless Edith Piaf glamour. In the lush, atmospheric setting of a greenhouse, she delivers a smoldering, dynamic performance, all while showcasing her radiant growing baby bump.
"OMG" is a tantalizing preview of Waterhouse’s forthcoming album, set to drop later this year. She teases fans with a cryptic concept: "There’s this disco ball spider theme I’ve been exploring—it’s a metamorphosis, but I can’t say much more just yet." This highly anticipated release will follow her acclaimed 2022 debut album, I Can’t Let Go, the standalone single "Nostalgia," and her Milk Teeth EP, which includes the Gold-certified hit, "Good Looking."
Suki Waterhouse’s star is shining brighter than ever, and "OMG" is a thrilling glimpse of what’s to come.
