Hello TaniA Kyllikki, we’re thrilled to have you here for this interview! We've had an amazing time exploring your music and diving into your creative journey. Now, we’re even more excited to get a deeper look into both your brand and your personal and professional inspirations.
Q.) What inspired the name TaniA Kyllikki for your artist persona? How does it capture the connection you want to build with your fans?
A.) TaniA Kyllikki are actually my middle names, my full name is a mouthful, though!! LOL … So I thought it would be better to just use them. I can say that, Kyllikki, signifies a woman of great strength.
Q.) Can you tell us about the inspiration behind this song and how it came to life?
A.) Many people all over the globe are dealing with difficult situations. At the moment, things are more challenging than ever. Making your dreams a reality is also becoming more challenging as a result of this. Also, with all the negativity in the world, it becomes more difficult to enjoy life's little pleasures. So, I set out to compose a little song with my husband Rynellton, that, despite its short duration, conveyed the spirit of overcoming adversity to live one's best life. My goal was for everyone of all ages, anywhere in the world, to take a moment to smile and enjoy themselves, let all their worries go, and gain confidence in themselves. You could say that my "Feel Good Vibes" is your secret weapon to give you the will to seize the day and feel powerful.
Q.) “Feel Good Vibes” captures such a raw feeling of emotion; how do you feel after performing this song, whether in the studio or live, i.e. is it cathartic or draining and how do you prepare for this emotional result?
A.) I am an extremely emotive person, which is why it is entirely natural for me to write and perform with emotion. I don't consider it draining; rather, it induces a sense of strength in me. I am committed to establishing a deeper connection with others, and music is an extremely powerful tool that allows me to express myself while also nurturing connections with others.
Q.) The song encourages listeners to "LIVE YOUR BEST LIFE." What does that phrase mean to you personally, and how do you embody it in your daily life?
A.) When I was writing the lyrics I was trying to cope with previous news about my health that wasn't good news. I was frightened and felt alone. For moments I felt in limbo and I couldn't see past my fears. Once some things were done concerning my health I started to realize just what is valuable. Live Your Best Life means living in the moment, despite if everything is perfect or not. I try to include this thought process daily and remind myself that there's always plenty to be thankful for.
Q.) Your decision to include a surprise rap breakdown in "Feel Good Vibes" was very exciting. What inspired you to experiment with rap in this track?
A.) Actually it was sort of spontaneous as I was writing lyrics. The energy just kept growing and it sparked the idea for something daring and bold. It was like putting the stamp of approval to say YES!! I'm not playing!! I mean what I'm saying.
Q.) "Feel Good Vibes" is part of your upcoming "Free-Spirited" album. Can you give us a sneak peek into what we can expect from the rest of the album?
A.) I like to surprise my fans; I am really excited about this album. There's going to be something for a wide range of audiences of all ages. There will be some more uptempo tunes, plus diversity of R&B, etc. I love so many different genres of music that has inspired me since childhood and this project will showcase this. It's basically me letting my creativity flow without any barriers. I really can't wait to finally release it this year.
Q.) You've described the song as having a deeper meaning while still being fun and celebratory. How do you balance crafting music that’s both meaningful and danceable?
A.) For me personally, my song is my cry to no longer be battling with health issues anymore and be able to spread my wings and really soar as high as I can go, without all the setbacks I face daily. However, regardless of these setbacks, I want to inspire others to not give up in their own lives. I always try to stay positive and prayered up. I firmly believe in seizing each moment and discovering joy, even when the circumstances seem unfavourable. Life is such a blessing; it isn't promised, so it's important to celebrate life and each other while we are still here.
And growing up, my mum listened to the best artists in the business, all the greats we know and love, and it was a wide range of genres. When you think of music from the 1980s and 1990s, the uptempo songs always had powerful messages in the lyrics—great, uplifting music that made us want to dance our troubles away. These artists inspired me to become the kind of singer and songwriter I am. So really, it's just naturally in me, and I don't think I just do it! And I love what I do.
Q.) The journey to release this single has been filled with challenges, including your health setbacks. How has overcoming these obstacles influenced your music and outlook as an artist?
A.) Oh yes releasing this one was very difficult at times and nearly got cut as a single release. I had multiple things that kept me from releasing it such as my health, then not finding the right engineer, to being told the song wasn't good enough on any level. My husband and I kept pushing through all the challenges while believing in ourselves. Once you get past your obstacles it makes you stronger and determined. I'm focused more than ever on bringing the best by being myself unapologetically. Now it's out and the love shown for my song has been amazing. I'm so grateful.
Q.) Your husband and collaborator, Rynellton, worked on this track with you. What’s it like creating music together as a team?
A.) You know, when I was in my teens, I always hoped and dreamed I'd be married to someone with whom I could connect on every level, especially music. It's honestly a dream come true to be able to go on this incredible musical journey with my husband. Our chemistry is unparalleled, and I am in awe of his skills as a musician, producer, and songwriter. I'm proud to be building my music career with him. I feel so blessed and thankful to God for my husband, both personally and professionally speaking. He has his own humble beginnings he has shared with me; he inspires me to become the best I can be, and he believes in me and does all in his power to support me. I love and appreciate him so much, and I love all we create together. We are a great team.
Q.) As someone who’s been dubbed a "lyrical genius" and "British songbird," how do these titles influence the way you approach your craft?
A.) Receiving such incredible titles so early in your career is a surreal feeling. It truly touched my heart. It's really awesome to be recognized and embraced and I just continue writing from my heart and loving what I do. That takes away any pressure from trying to be something else other than your genuine self. People who follow me and know my full story know I have suffered abuse in the past, which caused me to have low self-esteem. So to be acknowledged for something you've been wanting to do since you were a little girl who only had her hairbrush as her microphone is incredible and I am so grateful for all the love and support I have received around the globe. My goal is to keep building my career, digging deeper as a singer-songwriter, bringing endless stream of music for many years to come.
Q.) You have made some great strides and now are becoming more established as an artist. Do you have any professional advice that you would give your younger self that might have even further fueled the current course your career is now on?
A.) My goodness, there are so many things I would say. I've made mistakes and lost a significant amount of time in the past by not allowing myself the freedom to be who I truly am. I've allowed the wrong people to be in my life. Made some poor choices that put me in bad situations. So, I'd tell my teenage self, "Look, you have a God-given gift; you need to believe you are good enough; you can do this; you need to block out all the outside noise from people who aren't for you and focus on being the best version of yourself you can be. I would also encourage myself to embrace her true creative self sooner rather than later, as there is no harm in being authentic and not conforming to stereotypes. In this world, we have the option to remain victims or to take action and change the course of events. I finally liberated myself to embrace my true, authentic, and free-spirited self. My only regret is that I didn't do it sooner.
Q.) In a world where the music industry can be demanding, have you ever faced moments where you questioned continuing? What motivates you to push through those moments?
A.) There have been moments where I had to walk away from some situations because they weren't for my best interest. I paused for a bit and took some time to rethink and choose the best path going forward. Loving what I do and having creative freedom to do it means the world to me.
Q.) Which of your already released songs, including this one, is the most important to you, or had the most impact on your life or career and can you tell us why?
A.) They're all important and hold their own special place in my heart. I think the song WHY is my most important because I need to convey my experiences through music and help others while trying to heal myself. I wanted to use my platform and take the opportunity to reach out to the many who have suffered rape, abuse, and neglect. I was a victim of these things and suffered alone. I wanted to let others know that they're not alone and they can overcome this and get their lives back.
Q.) What is the most inspirational thing a fan, or anyone, has told or shown you about your music?
A.) I remember one my fans telling me about their daughter who was inspired by me. Her 9 year old daughter who sings and wants to do things her own way just like me when she grows up. That's such a big compliment and I wish her all the success in the world.
Q.) With "Feel Good Vibes" kicking off 2025 on such a positive note, what are your goals for the year ahead, both personally and professionally?
A.) I'll continue releasing singles until the album drops, and then I plan on doing some videos as well. My goal is to broaden my knowledge in various aspects of the music industry, including engineering and business. My husband and I also want to create a development programme one day for upcoming artists in the future, and at the moment we are working on getting placements in movies, television, etc.
On a personal note, I hope and pray my health can start to become more stable so I can do more. I have so much in me I want to accomplish. And I pray my husband can finally move in with me. It's taxing on us both being long distance; I need my soulmate by my side. And professionally speaking, we already have 2000+ unreleased songs together, and we have so much more in us waiting to be created! LOL, so I need him with me so he can be ready at the keyboard night and day, hehe.
I want to say thank you so much for this awesome interview. I've loved chatting with you guys. Lots of love.
