Snow Patrol Announce North American Tour & Celebrate Success of New Album “The Forest Is The Path”
Snow Patrol is officially back on the road! The band has just announced their first North American tour since 2019, kicking off on March 21, 2025, in Vancouver, BC. This long-awaited return will take the band through major cities across the continent, with stops in Seattle, Los Angeles, Chicago, and beyond. The tour wraps up on April 12 in Philadelphia, PA. Fans eager to secure their spots can register for artist presale access by signing up for Snow Patrol's mailing list on their website, while tickets for the general public go on sale starting Friday, September 27, at 10 am local time.
This tour follows the release of their new album, The Forest Is The Path, which dropped on September 13, 2023. The album has been met with acclaim and even reached the #1 spot on the U.K. Official Charts, marking the band’s first time at the top in 18 years, a milestone they last achieved with their 2006 hit album Eyes Open. Produced by Fraser T Smith (known for work with Adele, Stormzy, and Dave) and Snow Patrol themselves, this latest release features the powerful new single “Everything’s Here And Nothing’s Lost.” With Gary Lightbody, Nathan Connolly, and Johnny McDaid at the helm, The Forest Is The Path marks a new chapter for the Northern Irish trio.
Snow Patrol’s return to the North American stage is especially meaningful for Lightbody, who reflects on their journey over the years. “We’re so excited to get back to tour in North America again! For the first ten years of our career, we didn’t get to play in the US or Canada, and even though, now, we have been touring there for twenty years, we still feel like we’re making up for lost time. We grew up listening to so much music from the US and Canada, so we feel like it’s in our blood. We can’t wait to come back again next year and discover more of the continent and have new adventures with a brand-new album,” he shared.
The Forest Is The Path is an album rich with contrasts, from its soaring choruses and anthemic melodies to moments of raw introspection. It’s been described as the band’s most open and unguarded work yet. Lightbody’s lyrics cut deep with phrases like, “I’m not going to lie to you anymore, after these lies. Then no more,” and “Love is just pain in reverse.” Each track reveals a journey of self-reflection, with lyrics that echo themes of heartache, honesty, and healing. It’s an album that doesn’t shy away from the complexities of human emotion, making it a fitting soundtrack for fans looking for a cathartic listen.
The recording sessions with Fraser T Smith were intense and transformative for the band. Lightbody, in particular, embraced a raw vulnerability that he says made this album a pivotal point in his songwriting journey. Fans and critics have already taken notice. The Irish Times described the songs as “terrifyingly tender,” while Hot Press praised the album’s potential to become a modern classic, highlighting its “soaring choruses and future classics.” The Telegraph awarded it four stars, cementing The Forest Is The Path as a standout release in Snow Patrol's discography.
Before the North American tour kicks off, Snow Patrol will be playing to their fans in the UK and Ireland throughout February 2025, with stops at some of the region’s most notable venues. Following their performances at festivals over the summer, including a standout set at Rock Werchter in Belgium and a sold-out show at Thomond Park Stadium in Limerick, the band is eager to share their new music live with audiences everywhere.
The North American tour promises to be a celebration of both the band’s latest music and their long-standing connection with fans across the continent. With a fresh batch of songs and a renewed sense of purpose, Snow Patrol is ready to deliver an unforgettable experience. Fans can visit the band’s official website for more details and to secure their tickets. Get ready to join Snow Patrol on their new journey—this tour is set to be one for the books.
