When director Eric J. Vasquez first heard the song, he immediately envisioned a cinematic tribute to one of Reina’s greatest musical influences, Fiona Apple. Inspired by the evocative visuals of Criminal, Reina shared a reference image from the iconic video, sparking a creative dialogue that set the project in motion. Excited by the concept, Vasquez expanded on the idea, generating AI-assisted reference images to map out key scenes. The result is a stunning reinterpretation that not only honors the original but also amplifies Reina’s own artistic voice. Their collaboration seamlessly merges nostalgia with innovation, creating a visually compelling narrative that complements the remix’s pulsing intensity.
