We recently listened to Noam Peri's latest EP, Flowers, and it’s safe to say this release is brimming with remarkable artistry, a true testament to Peri's talent for crafting something exceptional. While we've spotlighted a few standout tracks, we highly recommend experiencing the entire EP to fully appreciate its immersive journey.

We opened the EP with “Angel,” where gritty guitars layered with slight distortion immediately establish an electrifying atmosphere. The track’s rock roots are undeniable, and the nuanced production creates an authentic, almost live performance feel. The drums strike with precision, delivering a punchy, crisp rhythm that is utterly captivating. When the vocals arrive, they exude a laid-back yet emotionally invested tone, enhancing the message’s impact. The seamless integration of drum fills and dynamic guitar riffs generates an exhilarating sound, propelling the song forward. The interplay between lyrics, vocals, and instrumentation is masterfully executed, maintaining focus on the narrative. We were particularly impressed by the sustained vocal delivery and the retro rock feel brought to life by the deep, resonant bass transitions.

The line:

 “It’s all in my head”

stood out as a moment of perfect execution, maintaining an authentic, raw rock performance vibe. We found ourselves hooked on the intricate drum patterns that continually elevated the vocal delivery. The bassline also deserves special mention for anchoring the track’s foundation while preserving the energetic flow. When the guitars stretched into elongated notes, they perfectly set the tone for the interlude, creating an ideal space to showcase Peri’s vocal prowess. The production here is nothing short of exceptional.

"Darling I Would" beautifully demonstrates how rock, and Peri, have mastered the art of the ballad. It transitions effortlessly from gritty guitars to a more delicate style while preserving an edgy, genuine sound, embodying the very essence of rock and roll.

The lyrics:

“I want to see your eyes shine in front of me / If I could kiss you, darling, I would, but I can’t trust my mind,”

- resonate with a touching, heartfelt sincerity. The raw emotion, coupled with grinding guitar chords and a complex yet understated drum pattern, creates a compelling depth that draws listeners in. The cadence, melancholy, and introspection conveyed by Peri make this track unforgettable. The repeated line, “I can’t trust my mind,” followed by powerful micro-solos from the entire band, is brilliantly executed. We absolutely loved this.

Then comes “Debbie,” an immediate favorite of ours for its tribute to Debbie Harry. Emulating an icon is no small feat, yet Peri steps confidently into those legendary shoes and completely owns the moment. The track’s rapid tempo and fluid vocals effortlessly glide over the driving beat, exuding a cool, fearless attitude that perfectly encapsulates the song’s spirit. The synth arrangements pay homage to Blondie's era-defining sound, while the erratic, relentless drum patterns echo Harry’s punk energy. Peri’s vocal delivery is nothing short of flawless, capturing the essence of the homage while stamping it with their unique artistry.

Flowers is a brilliant showcase of Noam Peri’s ability to weave authenticity and emotion into masterful rock compositions. This EP is a must-listen, not only for rock enthusiasts but for anyone who appreciates powerful storytelling through music.
