New Jersey Noisegazers HIGH. Announce Sophomore EP "Come Back Down"

Get ready for some exciting news from the New Jersey noisegaze scene! HIGH. has just announced their sophomore EP, Come Back Down, set to drop on January 24, 2025, via the indie powerhouse Kanine Records. This upcoming release is already making waves with the premiere of the lead single, “In A Hole,” which just dropped alongside a DIY rooftop music video that you won’t want to miss.

“In A Hole” kicks off with a thunderous wall of guitars, perfectly encapsulating the raw emotion that HIGH. is known for.

Lead vocalist Christian Castan shares that the track dives deep into the theme of finding community amid darkness. "It’s about being depressed and the people close to you dragging you out of it,” he explains. “There’s a lyric—'These are the new stars, they burst alive'—that really sums it up. It’s about living life at its best and never wanting that feeling to end.”

The music video, directed by Aleko Syntelis, captures the band’s exhilarating rooftop performance in Brooklyn, complete with a stunning skyline backdrop.

Castan recalls the electric atmosphere: “We shot this video during a rooftop show in Williamsburg, the last weekend of summer. With a bunch of New Jersey heads, some new friends, and a few keg stands, it was a night to remember. Aleko really captured what that moment felt like.”

Come Back Down marks a pivotal chapter in High.'s evolution, showcasing their expanded sonic range. Fans can expect more noise, more hooks, and an even deeper emotional resonance compared to their debut EP, Bomber. This new project promises to explore heavier themes of loss and love while still packing that signature punch.

HIGH. is not just a band; they’re a force ready to take on the world! Formed in 2021 in the tucked-away town of Boonton, NJ, the creative nucleus of Christian Castan (vocals/guitar) and Bridget Bakie (bass/vocals) met while dominating the DIY and college circuit. With Bakie hailed as “The Queen of The Quarter Note” and Castan known for his unforgettable guitar work, they quickly realized they needed a project that would be their sole focus and allow them to tour far and wide. Just weeks after forming, HIGH. began making their mark on the tristate DIY scene with an electrifying debut at Saint Vitus in NYC.
