Begin Interview:

Hello Michelle Galas, we’re thrilled to have you here for this interview! We've had an amazing time exploring your music and diving into your creative journey. Now, we’re even more excited to get a deeper look into both your brand and your personal and professional inspirations.

What inspired the name Michelle Galas for your artist persona? How does it reflect the kind of connection you aim to create with your fans and your music?

"Michelle Galas is my birth name, the name my parents gave me. it is my real name. As it is my real name so I want to be real with my fans and via my music. My music is me and my partner who produces the music knows me well and we make a good team , we understand each other creativity and inspiration. I define my music as " Hype Thunder Dance pop Music" it is a music that makes people dance, move, jump, shout and be happy express themselves go for it in life."

On Instagram, you encourage people to "be yourself," and your empowering personality shines through. Where do you think this strength and confidence come from, and how do you hope to inspire others to embrace their authentic selves?

"My grand father always told and shown me to be independent even as a woman .So all my life I have to deal with situations on my own and that gave me strength to go for it and be confident on my own. I want to show to the world and people that whatever situation we may go through if you stay yourselves you can show to people who you really are and what you can do or not."

You also shared the powerful advice, "Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t be yourself." Have you faced moments where others tried to limit or define you, and how did you navigate those challenges to remain true to who you are?

Yes now some people do not understand why I like artists like Lady Gaga or Cindy Lauper or even Cher as a black woman. To get through those challenges the only way is to stay true to myself whatever people like it or not and do not lie to myself .No need to fit in a world that is not mine and do what people want for me that is not me. Freedom is the key to creativity in music.

Your messages of empowerment are so impactful. Have you ever considered taking on a mentorship role or creating a platform to guide others in pursuing their dreams and embracing their individuality?

oh yes my mantra is Groov'WithMe so to be a leader in the Groov of Life why not and mentee people to keep grooving this life the best they can yes I can do this

We noticed a touching moment where you connected with a fan while filming a music video. How important is it for you to engage with fans in person, and what do these interactions mean to you as an artist?

When someone takes time to listen to my song and lyrics that makes me happy and I am happy if they are happy and if the song bring something in their life. People can tell you who they are by listening your songs. it is very important for me to interact with people , I love and respect people.

Your voice is both powerful and soulful, blending technical precision with intimate emotion. When did you first discover your vocal talent, and how have you nurtured it to create such a unique sound?

I was not sure about my voice since a long time not confident at all it is only via the help of my actual sound engineer that makes me discover what I can do and not with my voice in relations with my personality too. I have improved my voice I am not ashamed to say this because people think all singers must sing a certain way or be like has like Whitney Houston'voice or so on. For me it is to create my own style with my voice . My voice and my personality must be one , so I am working on that.

Your latest release, "Take Me Baby (In Your Arms)," feels deeply personal. Is there a particular story or experience that inspired this song? Does it reflect a long-term connection or capture the fleeting magic of a new encounter?

The lyrics of "Take Me Baby" (in your arms) have been written by Loretta Rajkumar who gave me this song and I took it like it is mine. I loved this lyrics since the first day i read them. She gave me full freedom to find a melody and music for it. It is the story of a woman who is asking a man to give her affection. The song has some sexual connotation but not link to sex directly (by saying in your arm make the song become more holy ahahah!).

Do you have any professional advice that you would give your younger self that might have changed the current course your career is now on?

Yes why you give up and did not trust yourself and let this everyday life challenges control you patience and knowledge are the key.

Do you have a favorite song from your childhood that you would like to cover that makes you feel connected to who you are as an artist today?

I have a lot so not really a favorite one. The song I loved in my childhood was a song from my island Guadeloupe where I come from called " Tamboo" by Tanya St Val and one song from Cindy Lauper called "I'll kiss you".

What’s one fun or surprising fact about you that fans might not know?

hmmm hahaha I like laugh a lot and be messy too do not care state lol be crazy ahahaha so my house can be all over lollllllll

Can you walk us through your songwriting process? Which instrument typically serves as the foundation for your songs, and how does it influence the overall mood and direction of the final sound?

My songwriting is quite a lot of improvisations. I do not plan sometimes I think about something and write about it. I work my songs with my partner music producer so most of the time but we are more about the sounds if we find a sound that please our ears we try to see if that goes with the song meaning etc etc we have our secret method. Groovstacymusic (my music producer) is a funny guy with a lot of crazy sounds in his head lol and he knows me well to see and understand what it is in my head lol.

If you could make one change in the music industry to support emerging artists like yourself, what would it be?

"change the system of the royalties and record deal contracts too much middle man. Artists need the music industry and the music industry needs the artists so why not find a new way more equitable for both parts so both are treated with fairness."

Which top 3 live music venues or festivals are on your bucket list to perform at?

hmmm one day I dream to play at 02 but for the moment I am very realistic I just want to play in edm dance nightclubs or music festival in USA or Europe.

What are the main challenges you face as a solo artist, and how do the benefits of working independently compare?

organisation, time and finance. most of artist must work a job to pay their bills and at the same time manage their music goals what is not easy when you do all yourself or have to pay people to do things for you.

To be independent artist is above all be free to manage your music career as you want and at your terms without the pressure of the music industry that make you become a machine to make money and take advantage of your royalties, master. but it is also be independent in how your manage your finance and in what you must invest it or not at least you know where the money is going lol

Can you share a bit about your songwriting process? Do you begin with a melody, lyrics, or a specific emotion you want to capture?

I start with one word that comes to my head than I write something and what I want to mean or how that makes me feel than the melody comes. This is how i wrote of my song called Money box.

Where do you start the production of your music, i.e. in a home recording studio or with an outside producer?

How do you finalize your finished work, ie self-mixed/mastered or another source?

Me and my partner we have a small studio at home and then we go to our friend sound engineer to do the mix and master.

What was your reaction when you first heard the final mix of your project?

very glad because I know the sound engineer understand the vibes we want and our music style too. It is very important to work with someone who is musician understand music and vibes not only the technical part.

What part of the music-making process is the most stressful, ie the creation, the actual release date, etc?

creation can be stressful too if you are not sure of the direction of the music and song but the most stressful is the marketing plan to operate after the release of the song. You never knows if it is going to work or not and if people will understand it or not if it is going to work or not until you operate it

Which of your already released songs, including this one, is the most important to you, or had the most impact on your life or career and can you tell us why?

my song "take me baby" (in your arms) i am proud of it in terms of music and lyrics and it is a beginning of more coming.it make me discover my potential and more about myself too.

What is the most inspirational thing a fan, or anyone, has told or shown you about your music?

one fan told me one day do not stop what you do push up I stayed calm and told myself you have work to do Michelle HAHAHA !! to Groov'The World.

So, what’s next? Can you share the full details on your future projects and what fans should be excited about? We’re hearing about more releases, and we’d love to be the first to announce it!

I am preparing more singles for 2025 where I will make people dance more and Yes I will be pleased to announce it via CAGE first.
