Marble Mammoth unleashes their electrifying new single "Glitch" off the highly anticipated EP "Misty Days"

With an opening musical production that’s enchanting, magnetic, and trance-like, Marble Mammoth brings a dramatic style that we instantly loved. From the immediate bouncing back and forth in the over-ear headphones mix to the staccato drumming and emphatic, prophetic vocal delivery, this song feels like we need a thesaurus to describe it because “great” and “awesome” just wouldn’t cut it.

There are definitely some incredible psychedelic moments woven into the mix, especially with how they handle the lyric and title of the song "Glitch." As we ride this roller coaster of a track, it feels like a Broadway-audio performance, full of intensity and drama. The editing is sheer perfection, as the word "Glitch" audibly describes itself.

When you hear the lyrics:

"You reinvent yourself into somebody else."

-It connects deeply, especially with the artist’s explanation of how the song reflects people’s pursuit of validation and the pressure we feel or choose to put on ourselves to gain attention in unhealthy ways. What an excellent lyrical display of a problematic trend in our culture today.

There’s so much to absorb in the beauty of this song. The musical arrangement is outstandingly performed, with its exciting, high-energy fast-paced emphatic drums and blazing guitars. A standout element is the vocal presentation. With a raspy yet powerful voice, Tobias is explosive, and the use of a megaphone effect on the vocals adds even more weight to the message. It’s another layer in the complexity of this song, echoing the preaching often done through megaphones. On top of that, Tobias also delivers an incredible guitar performance. It starts as a slow interlude with a sort of vocal ranting, stating “always chasing.” At the end, there’s a fantastic return to a rage-filled intensity, with the song coming back in full force, leaving everything on the floor and emotions running high. We loved every second of this track. It’s a brilliant listen.

The production is masterclass, and there was a lot of effort placed on the mix because it felt like an onslaught of mental dictation being thrust into your mind. The mix plays a huge role in capturing the essence of this artist's creation, so big props for that to Jan Lundkvist! Truly the entire engineering process was fantastically executed, and everyone involved deserves credit for embodying this message perfectly.

What’s up with Marble Mammoth and "Glitch"?

Stockholm-based Marble Mammoth returns with their new single "Glitch," delivering a hard-hitting commentary on today’s obsession with validation. In a world where people constantly chase likes and external recognition, the band’s message is clear: we’re trapped in an unsustainable, unhealthy cycle. Singer and guitarist Tobias breaks it down, saying, “In a world where happiness and success are measured in likes and consumption, and where truth is constantly overshadowed by catchy punchlines, we’ve created an unsustainable and unhealthy existence for ourselves. It’s a bug in the system, a glitch."

"Glitch" is the first taste of what’s to come from their upcoming EP Misty Days. The band is known for constantly reinventing themselves, and this track is no exception. Blending a cascade of repetitive riffs with explosive choruses, they channel their frustrations into something truly electrifying. “We want to experiment and explore music freely without limiting our sources of inspiration. At its core, Marble Mammoth is a rock band, but if we don’t push the boundaries, we’ll never create something new,” says drummer Marcus.

With seven years together under their belt, Marble Mammoth shows maturity and genre mastery across the EP, effortlessly shifting between rock, psychedelia, punk, and indie pop.

The single was mixed by Jan Lundkvist, renowned for his work with Lustans Lakejer and Webstrarna. As always, the band aims to break new ground in rock, and "Glitch" proves they're still charging forward. Get ready to be swept away by Marble Mammoth’s unique fusion of tone and style.
