Lexa Gates unveils her much-anticipated debut album "Elite Vessel"
The album is a reflective and personal journey, delving into Lexa's experiences with self-growth, determination, and reaching for her dreams. Describing the project, Lexa explains, "Elite Vessel represents everything I’m aiming to be. I see myself as the vessel, and this album is my path toward realizing all my goals—it’s truly a dream come to life." The album delivers a mix of vulnerability and empowerment, creating a powerful narrative.
At 23, this Latinx artist has rapidly made a name for herself with her honest storytelling, influenced by her New York roots and her rise from performing in small venues with her mother to making waves on a bigger stage. The album’s opening track, "Alone," produced by Lexa herself, sets a dreamy, reflective tone with her ethereal vocals leading the way. Fan-favorite "Stacy’s Chips" adds even more depth with raw and heartfelt lyrics. Recent singles "I Just Can’t Be Alone" and "Provider" have gained momentum, both praised for their emotional weight and Lexa’s unique vocal style. Produced by Billy Lemos, "I Just Can’t Be Alone" blends soulful beats with deeply personal lyrics, exploring the complexities of relationships. Meanwhile, "Provider" gives insight into Lexa’s experiences providing for her family, resonating with fans and critics alike. The album also features Alé Araya on “Lately, Nothing” and Zelooperz on “Sweet.. Time.”
In conjunction with the album, Lexa also released the music video for "Stupid," which features her entering a surreal world while laundering money. The visual contrasts her powerful lyrics, shining a light on empowered women flipping stereotypes on their head, even while the lyrics paint a different picture. Dressed in sleek office wear, Lexa embraces a bold, confident persona, unapologetically sharing her perspective.
To support Elite Vessel, Lexa is hitting the road for her first North American headline tour, kicking off in Chicago on November 4th. The tour will hit major cities like Austin, San Francisco, and Washington D.C., before wrapping up with a final show in her hometown, New York City.
Driven, focused, and brimming with talent, Lexa Gates is just getting started. Speaking optimistically about her future, she says, "I just want to make things happen for my mom and my sister, and show my mom that everything we’ve dreamed of is within reach. If you can imagine it, you can make it real." With Elite Vessel out now and her first major tour ahead, Lexa Gates is set for an electrifying end to the year—this is just the beginning of what’s to come.
