Nashville indie alt-pop crew Moody Joody dropped their uplifting anthem "Ground Control," along with a rad music video to go with it. This track is all about breaking free from the burnout and finding the good in the everyday grind. Celebrate this new jam with the band live on November 8 at Nashville's Row 1!

But wait, there’s more! Next month, Moody Joody will join alt pop/rock favorites MisterWives on select dates of the MisterWives: Just For One Night! tour. Tickets are on sale now, so grab yours before they’re gone!

After hitting rock bottom, the only way to go is up, and "Ground Control" captures that struggle perfectly. With a catchy melody and some playful rhymes, this tune dives into the chaos of life, reminding you to rise above those endless loops of monotony. Penned in the vibrant streets of New York with frequent collaborator Scott Harris (Shawn Mendes, Dua Lipa), it’s a shining reminder to take risks, aim high, and keep looking ahead.

Vocalist Kayla Hall describes the process:

“Somewhere along the line, it turned into an upbeat anthem about being burned out from the monotony of working side jobs, stuck in a loop of dissociation and being dissatisfied with your current circumstances.”

Vocalist Kaitie Forbes adds, “What’s more therapeutic than writing a rock bottom banger?! 'Ground Control' is for anyone who’s hit their wits' end in whatever artistry they’re chasing.”

The music video, directed by Gavin Hurlburt, is a heartfelt collaboration that the band can’t wait for you to see. Hurlburt explains, “The concept for the video centers around existentialism. We’ve all had to work jobs we hated and do menial tasks. The video digs into how we escape—or deal with—reality while dreaming of something better.”

So, don’t sleep on "Ground Control"—check out the music video and stream the song now! And be sure to snag your tickets for their upcoming shows!
