Following the release of his 2023 project "i care so much that i don't care at all," glaive is back with a fresh perspective in "May It Never Falter."

Drawing from personal experiences—including an influential trip to Iceland—he uses this project to process loss, personal growth, and his ongoing journey toward self-discovery.

The album opens with the daring track "For God and Country," where glaive doesn’t shy away from sharing his religious beliefs. The song features a haunting choral arrangement, which sets a medieval tone and becomes a recurring motif throughout the record. The production gradually evolves with euphoric electronic elements, reminiscent of a slow-building sunrise. On this track, glaive reflects on his past struggles, including battling suicidal thoughts, and expresses gratitude for the people and things that have helped him along the way.

"Live & Direct," a collaboration with up-and-coming artist kurtains, marks a notable shift from glaive’s earlier pop sound. The song taps into raw, guitar-driven melodies with a bass-heavy energy that nods to the rebellious spirit of classic rock. It kicks off with a nostalgic guitar riff before diving into glaive’s signature mix of introspective lyrics, smooth verses, and acoustic layers. Together, glaive and kurtains openly discuss their sexual desires while flexing their musical influence. Though the track carries a club-ready vibe in the hooks, glaive steers the verses toward more personal reflections, including how he’s moved on from an ex and grown closer to his friends.

The album's centerpiece, "EVERY DOG HAS ITS DAY," is an undeniable highlight. It's an explosive track that pairs deep basslines with intricate production, marking a significant moment in the project’s sonic journey. Balancing aggression with insight, glaive addresses the challenges of his rapid rise to fame, which began at just 15 with his breakout hit "astrid." He touches on the darker side of success, singing in the chorus, "Please don't look me in my face / In my eyes, you see the pain / Anger's just a supplement for change / I find myself in things I hate."

The album reaches a powerful climax with the second-to-last track, "Nobodys Fault/Accept My Own," which may be the strongest moment on the entire record—a bold statement, given the quality of the rest of the project. The song title plays on a clever word choice, using "accept" instead of "except" to signify glaive’s willingness to own his faults. Ethereal harp melodies, soft lute strums, and meticulous production elevate the track, creating a mesmerizing entry into his growing body of work.

Closing out the album, "By Birthright" is a captivating finale. Gentle guitar riffs and dreamlike falsettos complement glaive’s raw vulnerability as he grapples with existential questions. Wrapped in lush production, the track carries a deep sense of reflection, reminding listeners that life's decisions are ultimately theirs to make—it’s their birthright.

With May It Never Falter, glaive enters a new phase of his musical journey. This album not only reflects his growth but also showcases his ability to push creative boundaries. It’s a clear indicator that fans and critics can expect more daring and innovative music from this young artist in the future.
