Swedish indie group Girl Scout brings us a fresh, feel-good single with "Honey." Fans have already gotten glimpses of this track during Girl Scout's summer shows with Alvvays and their own headlining tour across the UK and Europe. The song has a laid-back, catchy vibe with smooth guitar riffs and a chorus that’s easy to sing along to, making it an instant crowd-pleaser.

“Honey” opens on a warm note, with upbeat melodies and subtle hints of synth that add a nostalgic glow. The lyrics, though tinged with melancholy, flow naturally under these infectious rhythms, reflecting on the gentle heartache of drifting apart from childhood friends. Lead singer Emma Jansson delivers a memorable line: “Oh honey / Is she really nice to you? / Growing up together and now you’ve grown apart / And isn’t it funny / How little things, they mean so much / I’m worried about you / But I don’t think you noticed at all.” Her words invite listeners into a moment of self-reflection on friendship and change, especially in the bridge, where she sings, “No, she’s not a bad person / But I think it’s time / To take a look at your friend from the outside / I know it hurts to see but only for a little while.”

With a comforting mix of upbeat instrumentals and thoughtful lyrics, "Honey" hits that sweet spot of both feel-good and introspective. The song started out as an acoustic tune, but the band found it resonated best as a nostalgic nod to the indie rock sounds of the 2010s.

The music video, shot and edited by the band themselves, captures the same down-to-earth, DIY feel. It starts with a cozy, straightforward setup as they play in a familiar living room setting. But as the track builds, the visuals take a fun turn, adding a lively energy that feels both real and refreshing.

“Honey” will be featured on Girl Scout's upcoming EP, Headache, dropping on November 8. Jansson describes the EP as channeling “that raw, unfiltered mix of frustration and humor” that comes from navigating the ups and downs of relationships and life. It’s a candid, relatable release that’s sure to resonate with fans and newcomers alike.
