One of our favorite and most powerfully gifted vocalists and songwriters, Francesca Pichierri, has once again harnessed her immense talent to craft a compelling and original narrative with this exceptional and very exciting release. "Amen" not only introduces a fresh perspective in music but also showcases an artistic evolution, blending an upbeat, disco-infused sound that stands apart from her recent releases.
Tackling a subject as deeply personal and heart-wrenching as the loss of a mother to cancer, "Amen" transforms grief into catharsis. Pichierri channels her pain into an electrifying anthem, addressing both the sorrow of losing a loved one and the disillusionment of being abandoned by those who should have stood by her side. Rather than dwelling solely in sorrow, the song finds a way to reclaim power, turning disappointment into an exuberant declaration of resilience.
What makes "Amen" particularly compelling is its contrast between weighty subject matter and its infectious, disco-pop production. There is no sharper way to deliver a biting message to those who have let you down than by turning heartbreak into a dancefloor liberation. Pichierri does precisely that, crafting a track that’s as defiant as it is celebratory.
Already known for her commanding, sultry, and versatile vocal presence, Pichierri elevates her artistry even further with this dynamic offering. Her ability to integrate themes of mental health beyond the usual tropes of love and breakups establishes her as a pioneer, potentially forging a new therapy subgenre within pop music. We will name it Thera-Pop in her honor.
From the very first note, "Amen" captivates with a pulsating bass rhythm that is both fast-paced and irresistibly groovy. Pichierri wastes no time, diving into the song with a striking mix of powerful singing and whisper-like delivery, exuding both texture and confidence. Her vocals intertwine seamlessly with the beat, enhancing the track’s rhythmic allure.
A true testament to her versatility, Pichierri possesses the rare ability to transcend genres effortlessly. Her vocal execution in "Amen" is reminiscent of Simon Cowell’s famous remark about artists who could make a phone book sound mesmerizing and that it’s all about the delivery. She masterfully alternates between staccato phrasing and smooth, elongated notes that seem to roll off her tongue, making every lyric land with intention and impact. This made the song amazing and so enthralling no matter what language she sings in.
Layered vocal harmonies, call-and-response elements, and sharp, percussive vocal pops add a 70s-inspired flair while maintaining a contemporary edge.
"Amen" pays homage to the disco era with classic hand claps, a nod to legends like Donna Summer, before taking a dramatic pause that heightens the emotional intensity. As the bassline surges forward, an exhilarating R&B-infused breakdown emerges, incorporating guitars and a tidal wave of sound that demands movement from the listener. This song is primed to be a DJ’s dream for disco remixes.
With an increasingly powerful and soaring vocal performance, Pichierri’s delivery becomes an electrifying force. The repeated invocation of "Amen" is hypnotic and emotionally charged, building into an anthemic chant that lingers and becomes an addictive anthem stuck in your head in the best of ways. If any track has the potential to revive the disco genre for a modern audience, it’s this one. It embodies all the elements that made the genre exhilarating while elevating them to new heights.
Pichierri has once again proven her ability to craft music that is both an immersive experience, filled with a powerful message and also be an absolute thrill to listen to.
We are devoted fans, and with "Amen," she has given us yet another reason to celebrate her artistry.

"Amen" masterfully blends infectious disco energy with raw emotional depth, proving that music can both heal and confront.
Francesca Pichierri announces her fifth single, "Amen," offering a bold and unflinching look at the phenomenon of "cancer ghosting", when those closest to a cancer patient withdraw, unable or unwilling to face the realities of illness. As part of her upcoming concept album, Cellule Stronze, this track provides another compelling glimpse into a deeply personal musical narrative inspired by her mother’s battle with cancer. While her previous single, "Sperarci Due Eroi," honored those who remain steadfast during hardship, "Amen" shines a light on those who say the right things but ultimately disappear when support is truly needed.
With sharp irony, Pichierri exposes the contradictions of human behavior, where well-meaning sympathy often fails to translate into real solidarity. The song’s vibrant, danceable energy stands in stark contrast to its cutting message, making its impact even more profound. "Amen" is both a social critique and a cathartic release, channeling frustration into music that invites listeners to reflect even as they move to the beat.
A gifted writer and storyteller, Pichierri approaches songwriting as a means of exploring the complexities of human relationships, crafting compositions that are deeply emotive and strikingly authentic.
Beyond recording she has made waves on major stages, including as a semifinalist in the San Marino Song Contest for Eurovision and as a featured performer at ESGO 2025, the European Gynaecological Oncology Congress, an invitation that highlights her ability to bridge music and social discourse.
"This song is about those who offer prayers instead of presence, who say they care but don’t want to see the pain up close," Pichierri explains. "It’s a harsh reality that many facing illness experience. ‘Amen’ is my way of confronting that hypocrisy—with a groove and a smirk. But beyond the irony (and the anger), it’s also an exploration of human nature. Illness is difficult, and not everyone knows how to navigate it. Too often, people don’t just withdraw—they also begin to see the person only as 'sick,' rather than as the individual they were before diagnosis. That stigma can be just as isolating."
Recorded in her childhood bedroom and produced alongside Italian musician Stefano Iuso, "Amen" is another testament to Pichierri’s fearless artistry. She follows no formula, instead crafting music with purpose; music that challenges conventions and sparks important conversations.
With "Amen," she continues to push the limits of both music and storytelling, proving that great art can entertain, enlighten, and provoke thought all at once.
