We had a chance to catch up with Wendy Wang and hear more about them and their career, and we wanted to share it with you, the fans.

What first sparked the passion for you to create music?

Honestly, I've always loved singing and listening to all kinds of music. When I first learned guitar, I wanted to try writing a song. I fell in love with being able to write anything and making each song my own. Being able to create something so unique and real made me want to keep writing songs.

Can you walk us through your songwriting process and where the inspiration comes from? for this latest project?

This song is one of the tracks for my upcoming ep. It's inspired by my pomeranian dog Maple. I wrote this song about the fear of losing a pet, but it could also be about anyone you love.

What was the most challenging part of bringing this project to life, from the initial idea to the final recording?

I would definitely say finalizing the production and perfecting the lyrics. I wanted the final recording to be so warm and special. I didn't know what to expect when we started the production project but it came out to be exactly what I wanted and I'm super happy about it.

What has been the most motivating force in creating your music?

sharing experiences of my life and emotions that I go through, and being able to make people feel something. Also the special connection I could have with others through my music.

What part of the music making process is the most stressful, ie the creation, the actual release date etc?

I think it's the days leading up and also following the release date, especially posting content. I definitely struggled with posting consistantly on social media so this is the most stressful part to me.

Where do you see your sound and artistry heading in the future? Are there any exciting new directions you're exploring?

I'm starting to have more alternative rock/soft rock elements in my songs and songwriting. I'm super excited to put out a bunch of new music in this style.

Please tell us about the last time you performed. Where was the show, and what was your experience?

My last performance was at the hotel cafe in hollywood! It was my first time having a headlining show, and I had my band with me as well. I really enjoyed it and I loved the venue as well!

What advice would you give your younger self and why?

I would definitely say to always stay true to myself and not care too much about the people around me. Comparison is something I think everyone has experienced and it's very easy to let it affect you. I would say to trust myself and do what makes me happy.

What is your favorite song to cover?

Right now, I love covering the song "between the bars" by elliot smith.

When you become famous, what famous band or artist would you love to tour with?

I would love to tour with Lana Del Rey or NIKI.

What is the most motivating thing a fan or anyone has ever told you about your music?

I love when people come up to me after a show telling me that they also had a similar experience/felt the same way. One time somebody showed me a picture of their pet and telling me their names and their stories which was so special and heart warming.
