From the moment we heard about "CHAPS" by Zaco, we knew we had to immerse ourselves in it, setting aside any preconceived expectations. Prepare yourself for something fresh and unconventional, a sonic experience that is not only inventive and playful but also deeply introspective, offering a glimpse into the artist's world.

And with that, we introduce you to Zaco. Packed with exceptional artistry, "CHAPS" stands as a testament to Zaco’s dedication to innovation and sonic craftsmanship. While certain tracks instantly captivated us, the true brilliance of this album lies in its entirety. We urge you to explore the full body of work to fully appreciate its depth and creativity.

We first delved into "Princess," and from the opening notes, it became evident that Zaco is a uniquely layered artist, masterfully conveying emotion through sound. The track is an intricate tapestry of sonic textures, employing a variety of techniques that not only deliver a message but also fully engage the listener. The rhythmic structures feel organic, yet unpredictable, breaking away from conventional BPM classifications. They possess an erratic energy while maintaining a hypnotic allure. The opening synth tones blend elements reminiscent of both a violin and a harmonica, setting an electrifying atmosphere early on. This, paired with Zaco’s dynamic vocal techniques, stretching syllables, seamlessly shifting between spoken word and melody, creates a highly immersive experience. The harmonies are expertly layered, punctuated by whispered electronic undertones, adding an ethereal dimension to the track.

Zaco utters:

"What the fuck is wrong with my poetry and dead vibes."

This line exudes both biting sarcasm and self-awareness, delivered with melancholic conviction. The shift in the song’s energy is palpable when we arrive at:

"I think I feel your hips mmm."

Here, we transition into a chorus-like section that defies traditional song structure, adding further depth and texture to the piece. There’s nothing formulaic about Zaco’s approach, his music is truly one of a kind. "Princess" is the kind of track that begs to be experienced live, with its hypnotic rhythms and unconventional vocal delivery ensuring an unforgettable performance. One of our favorite lines:

"I’m unavailable on a lady holiday."

An absolute standout moment.

Next, we experienced the visualizer for "Bubble," and from the first few seconds, it was clear we were in for an audio-visual spectacle. The imagery immediately sparks intrigue, raising more questions than answers, making it impossible to look away. The track itself is equally compelling. Zaco’s vocal cadence is unmistakable, a signature so distinct that it cannot be imitated. He exudes a carefree, almost mischievous energy, making even a solo stroll through the park feel like a grand adventure. There’s an underlying playfulness here, tinged with something subtly enigmatic.

After hearing this track, you’ll never hear the word "bubble" the same way again.

With a relentless lyrical flow, Zaco unpacks thoughts, emotions, and experiences that seem ripe for endless interpretation. His delivery is both captivating and exhilarating, carrying a level of excitement that commands attention. The repetition of:

"Bubble. Bubble. Bubble. Bubble."

Leaves a lasting imprint and without revealing too much, this is what a children’s song on acid would evolve into. A surreal, mind-bending journey laced with lyrical gems like:

"Cake from another world."

Sonically, "Bubble" is a thrill ride, featuring an eclectic mix of sounds, elongated guitar notes, vintage vinyl scratches, and unexpected instrumental textures. Every moment is an adventure, and we relished every second of it.

Lastly, we dove into "Valley Girl Disco," and stopping at just three tracks was almost impossible. The sheer variety in style, energy, and creative direction throughout "CHAPS" feels limitless. We implore you to experience the full album. One reason we selected "Valley Girl Disco" to highlight is its stunning vocal delivery, showcasing Zaco’s ability to transition from playful, almost spoken-word rap to profoundly moving melodies. The acoustic accompaniment adds an unexpected emotional weight, creating a powerful contrast that resonates deeply.

Halfway through the track, the song ascends into an electrifying crescendo, reaffirming Zaco’s exceptional talent. Just when you think you’ve figured out where it’s headed, it transforms into a full-fledged ‘70s disco celebration. There’s simply no way to categorize Zaco within conventional boundaries, his artistry defies labels, existing in a world of its own.

And just when you think you won’t hear a banjo amidst all of this, think again. There are no limitations in Zaco’s sonic universe.
