We had the pleasure of listening to the latest Album release from Luke Borchelt, ‘Every Rain’, and it’s nothing short of exhilarating. This album showcases masterful country stylings and offers a refreshing, heartfelt look at life’s simplest joys.

The opening track, “Same Old Square,” draws you in immediately with its captivating guitar intro, setting the stage for Borchelt's powerful, raspy vocals. The song unfolds into a charming story of young love, celebrating those unassuming yet memorable moments that feel like the best life has to offer. As the lyrics paint a scene of sharing fries from a Love’s truck stop or indulging in one too many drinks, it’s hard not to be swept up in its nostalgic, endearing quality. Lines like “you say go get the truck / I want a dollar cone / and a small fry from Love’s” capture the relatable beauty of these experiences, making them feel iconic and universal. Anyone who’s been there can feel the magic in Borchelt’s words.

As the track goes on, you realize that driving around “in the same old square” symbolizes those priceless moments we often overlook. It’s a beautifully simple message, delivered with a country flair that’s just unmistakable.

Next, we move on to “Every Rain,” where Borchelt’s voice truly takes center stage. Accompanied by a gentle acoustic guitar, his vocals here are both fierce and tender, with powerful crescendos that leave a lasting impression. The song’s careful pacing starts slow and steady, building into a beautiful, upbeat rhythm perfect for a scenic drive down a dusty country road. The “staccato-style” delivery and Borchelt’s authentic backroad sound give this track a striking uniqueness.

Then comes “Frostbit Hands,” which offers a refreshing shift in tone. With a full-bodied arrangement and a lively banjo in the background, the song highlights Borchelt’s impressive vocal range. His voice soars with energy, showcasing a dynamic quality that adds a new layer to the album’s overall feel.

In “Car Heat,” Borchelt demonstrates his continued ability to capture life’s simplest pleasures with authenticity. Singing about “getting high on a Gatorade bong,” he delivers a raw, heartfelt performance that embraces life’s unfiltered moments. His relaxed, unpretentious style here brings a refreshing realness, allowing the listener to feel the warmth and acceptance of life’s imperfections.

The album wraps up with “Orland, ME.” As Borchelt sings, “I loved you in Orland, ME,” against a backdrop of gentle slide guitar, you can feel your heart swell and a pang of nostalgia for a place you may have never been and finding yourself longing for a state you might never have visited, drawn in by the evocative imagery and emotion.

Luke Borchelt has a rare gift for storytelling, crafting songs that feel as familiar as they are enchanting.  ‘Every Rain’ is an album that transcends genres, making it easy to fall in love with its relatable lyrics and genuine country sound. If you haven’t yet, be sure to add ‘Every Rain’ by Luke Borchelt to your playlist—it’s an experience worth sharing.
