"Honey Darlin'" soft like the haystack a cowboy is no doubt napping on somewhere as you read this review. EleanorGrace's mellow, but beautiful vocals, pay homage to the original country music stars of the past. With this song, you can almost see the sunset in your ears. The lyrics tell us a story of how simple things can be the best and I loved some of the phrasing used.
Lyrics like, “I’ve got everything I need all the jewels ‘round my crown
Sun is sinkin’ low it’s as calm as a Sunday night
Honey darlin’ we’re gonna be alright”
I can honestly say, that only a Country song can make me realize how life gets us so riled up, and how when we grow from our childhood we seek so much, we stress so much, when all we need is EleanorGrace to remind us that:
“honey darlin’ who needs a bar when you've got a 6-pack and me right here”.
"'Honey Darlin'' is a new approach for me, in a way. I think it's simpler and happier and overall sweeter storytelling, which might just be what happens when you take inspiration from real people who loved real deep." - EleanorGrace
Musically, the calm and relaxed musical arrangement greets us with a giggle and soft guitars woven with harmonica. The beat is muted but unmistakable. The vocals are the softest and yet equally hardest-hitting you may hear for quite some time. Firstly they are everything Country music has ever strived to be, they are rolling and possess a falsetto that somehow manages to hit hard and won't let you think about anything but taking the day off with someone you love.
If you can ever manage to be somebody’s Honey Darlin', I think you would probably be the luckiest person in the world.
Eleanor Grace's "Honey Darlin'" is available on all major platforms today, hang up your hat and give it a stream today.
