Einsam released "Motivation," a track inspired by how we can overcome our limitations.

We discovered Einsam only just recently, but we’ve been huge fans ever since. His music creates a soundscape that invigorates your senses and stimulates your mind. We’ve always found ourselves completely fixated and hypnotized by this artist’s work.

The song opens gently, with fluttering sounds and a bongo-style drum beat supporting Einsam’s beautiful vocals, drawing us into this story of motivation. Then, like a crack of lightning, there’s an unexpected drum uprising—a sudden explosion that raises your senses to a new height without overwhelming them. It’s done so masterfully that you’ll find yourself replaying that moment over and over.

Einsam’s vocal style is extremely unique, with singing parts that soar without being overindulgent. What stood out even more are the moments where the narration breaks through, guiding us through the story with such crystal clarity, it’s like a Broadway actor breaking the fourth wall to pull you deeper into the scene. You’ll feel like Einsam is letting you in on every emotion and thought at an intensely personal level.

When you hear: "I came to change myself / I know I can be better," it’s emotional, heartfelt, and brings tremendous weight to the song.

Vocally, the song is stunning, and the decision to pair it with such precise drum patterns is brilliant. They fit together perfectly, like tongue and groove, creating a seamless connection while both the drums and vocals remain equally explosive. A drop and then synth solo piece add a fresh, contemporary twist to the track, paving the way for it to be a global radio sensation. We could easily liken its creativity and quality to Coldplay—not in style, but in its excellence and execution.

Einsam, the solo project of Bristol-born writer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Sam Jackson, brings post-punk and leftfield pop together in a striking way. After four years in Vienna, Jackson returned to Bristol in 2020, using his studio to craft the debut album Actionism, where themes of existence and philosophical exploration are fused with the boldness of pop.

"Motivation," the second single from 'Actionism', draws inspiration from boxer Floyd Patterson, once the youngest heavyweight champion who later became known as "The Loser." Jackson, fascinated by Patterson’s life, connects Patterson’s journey with the concept of the Grenzsituation, or Limit-Situation, by Karl Jaspers. The single’s vulnerability and resilience come through as Jackson reflects on Patterson’s rise and fall. The song features low, bare verses and explodes into a powerful chorus with the line, “it’s only motivation to go harder,” set against brass synths and soaring snare. This combination of grit and grandeur creates a mood fitting for a boxer who, despite his losses, kept rising.

Self-produced in Jackson’s Bristol studio, with additional mixing by Dom Mitchison, "Motivation" has the hallmark of Einsam's sound—layered harmonies, electronic textures, and raw emotion.

We think this is one artist you cannot let pass by.
