Right off the bat, we absolutely loved the production quality and layered structure of “Eclipse”. Its musical construction feels like a masterful pyramid, sounds building upon each other with precision, each layer designed to draw you deeper into its hypnotic embrace. The meticulous sequencing allows every element to breathe, leaving a powerful impression as each component settles into place. This careful orchestration captures your thoughts and holds them, crafting a vivid mental landscape where every detail is sharpened and amplified. Utilizing a lush, yet irresistibly rhythmic framework, the heavy, bass-driven intro emerges from delicate tapping and progressively complex drum patterns. This transition feels like an entrancing pulse, a force that simultaneously soothes and invigorates, leaving you caught between serenity and urgency. Each sound flows into the next with deliberate intensity, cascading down your senses like a river of synthetic bliss. It’s music you don’t just hear; you experience it through tactile sensations and emotional resonance.

This felt wildly exhilarating and tantalizing and kept us completely fixated.

feels hauntingly prophetic. It’s easy to imagine being enveloped by darkness in a massive nightclub, flashing lights slicing through the shadows as the song’s mantra echoes around you. The sensation is visceral, as if Dream Bodies themselves are vanishing into the ether.

Dream Bodies is the creative vision of Steven Fleet, an artist hailing from Los Angeles, California. The latest single, “Eclipse,” emerged from a period of intense creative isolation, written and recorded over several months of relentless rain at a secluded house along the Oregon coast. This solitary environment proved instrumental in refining Fleet’s sound, allowing him to explore intricate textures and layered rhythmic effects with unrestrained focus.
Fleet’s quest for sonic perfection extended beyond the recording process, enlisting his longtime collaborator Josh Achziger of Shadow Mirrors to handle mixing and mastering remotely from New Jersey. Despite the geographical distance, Achziger’s meticulous touch brought “Eclipse” to life, enhancing its complexity and atmospheric depth.
During a post-recording session back in Los Angeles, Fleet teamed up with Kenneth Gibson of Furry Things, whose mastery of the Moog synthesizer added a pivotal dimension to the track’s hypnotic build.
