We had the chance to hear the latest release by Sophro, “White Glass”, and we instantly loved it.

With a commanding cinematic synth opening, “White Glass” immediately draws you in with its striking power and layered arrangement. The background buildup escalates beautifully, reaching new heights that resonate deeply. The intensity briefly pauses, making way for the artist's breathtakingly clear vocals, ethereal yet robust, slicing brightly through the soundscape with a striking clarity that demands attention.

When the lyrics flow:

"my thoughts are always out and then / floats away / Don’t ask me to concentrate. I’m out of this space,"

-you feel the disarming honesty and raw emotional pull. What stands out most is the artist's singular delivery, akin to an expressive painter adding vivid strokes amidst a sea of monochrome. There’s a deep emotional gravity in every note, and their allure captivates from start to finish, anchoring the listener in a state of rapt engagement.

The shift in tone and delivery midway through is nothing short of stunning. Sophro transforms as if two voices coexist within one, wielding powerful control and dynamic range. This duality creates a breathtaking contrast, showcasing extraordinary vocal skill and artistry, almost as though the artist is harmonizing with their own echo.

The crescendo is a masterstroke, a thrilling culmination that surges with energy and culminates in a striking climax. The precision in mixing and engineering makes every sound glisten, leaving a crystal-clear impression of immense power and nuance. Like a futuristic synth orchestra, White Glass feels refreshingly innovative, a bold, new frontier in sonic artistry.

White Glass is a captivating electropop track that delves into the chaos of overstimulation, the rush of modern life, and the emotional turbulence that comes with feeling overwhelmed and off-kilter.

Sophro, the electronic project helmed by Deimante Pranckeviciute, emerges from Manchester with an airy yet resonant style. Originally from Lithuania, Deimante seamlessly blends her heritage with the influence of her current surroundings, crafting music that explores themes of identity, exploration, love, depression, and the meaning of home. Her soundscape marries organic and electronic elements, striking a chord that feels both intimate and expansive.

Reflecting on White Glass, Deimante shared, “When I think of White Glass, I recall the whirlwind period when I wrote it. Life felt like an unending sprint from one task to the next, barely touching the ground. I had no time to absorb the day’s moments or connect meaningfully with people, just a constant rush, a flood of unprocessed emotions, and imbalance. Frustrated, I retreated to the studio and poured that chaos into writing this song. The process became my escape, a moment to pause and breathe. For me, White Glass serves as a reminder of how vital it is to slow down and make space for yourself.”
