Gerard Frain’s released "Remember" is already a timeless classic by a very talented artist.
We found Gerard Frain, a fully independent songwriter and self-funded-managed, artist who's se and we were impressed. Gearing up for a big release at the end of the year, Gerard releases this self-produced debut EP coming out on vinyl. Hailing from the hometown of Doncaster UK, it has seen better days because many of the great music venues have closed over the last decade due to austerity and decline in South Yorkshire. However, because of his tenacity and the attention this artist is getting, he is always performing in front of sold-out crowds!
Folk Songwriter Gerard Frain delivers honest introspection in the latest single ‘Remember’. ‘Remember’ was released on Friday, 16th August, and is available on all streaming platforms. We were also impressed to learn that Frain is a multi-instrumentalist. He uses his love of unique chord progressions to craft a sound that harkens back to the glory years of folk introspection but with a contemporary feel and a true to the Working Class South Yorkshire perspective. ‘Remember’ is no exception to those rules and fulfills its purpose greatly.
After a featured spot on BBC Introducing Leeds & Sheffield recently, Frain is gearing up for a very full plate in the future. His last single ‘Kiss Me Stranger’ was written for the short film ‘Sweeping Yellow’ (Dir, Baran Yakut) and premiered at London’s prestigious Raindance Film Festival at the end of June. Critics praised the song in glowing reviews.
As both an unsigned artist and self-managed, Frain is determined to remain independent.
When we first listened to this song, we were completely captivated and immediately understood why Frain's live performances are always sold out. The song has a soothing yet catchy and distinctive folk vibe that grabs your attention from the very beginning. Frain's vocal tone and delivery are absolutely gorgeous, and the chorus and harmonies are so infectious that you can't help but start tapping your foot along to the wonderful rhythm. The violins blend seamlessly with Frain's voice, and the overall instrumental arrangement is simply exquisite, elevating the entire listening experience. The lyrics are equally impressive, painting vivid imagery that resonates with listeners on a deep level. Frain's storytelling ability shines through, weaving a relatable and thought-provoking tale. As the song progresses, you can't help but feel a connection to the emotions being conveyed. What really sets this track apart is its ability to sound both fresh and timeless. It's got that classic folk sound but with a modern twist that keeps it relevant. The top-notch production quality allows each instrument to shine without overshadowing Frain's mesmerizing vocals. By the time the song reaches its climax, you're completely hooked. The build-up is gradual but powerful, leaving you with a sense of satisfaction and a strong urge to hit the replay button. It's no wonder Frain has such a dedicated following – this song is a perfect example of his exceptional talent and unique musical style.

We found this very powerful quote about this refreshing new artist:
BBC’s Radio Sheffield’s Christian Carlisle; ‘’If something doesn’t exist, go out and make it yourself - go and do it - and that’s exactly what Gerard has done’’.
