Sukh Unveils “Heading East,” a Heartfelt Journey Through Long-Term Relationships

We had a chance to hear the new album “Heading East” by Sukh, and we were incredibly impressed. The first track jumps out of your headphones and embodies fun music. “Kind” is a beautifully upbeat soft rock ‘n’ roll song, showcasing Sukh’s standout vocals. He captivates the listener with a terrific sense of soft, breathy tones that transition to a powerful and soaring delivery in this beautiful lyrical display. You can’t help but be wowed when you hear the lyric: “lighting a spark, falling in the dark, I know, without a clue.” It’s such an adorable and relatable lyric for listeners to latch onto. One word that comes to mind when listening to this vocalist is “charming.” There’s an absolute magnetic charm to this performer’s abilities and delicate yet powerful delivery. We couldn’t get enough of this song!

Next up was “For the Road,” and if you’re a country music fan, then have we got the song for you! With a thrilling staccato beat and some excellent rolling guitars, you’re going to be looking for your cowboy hat, boots, and a horse! Sukh absolutely crushes this upbeat country track with a terrific display of his ability to cross genres like no one else. Right about the middle, there’s a beautiful interlude featuring some fantastic bass and beats, and when you hear the lyrics, “I’ll see you around,” it’s almost as if he jumped on a horse and rode off into the sunset himself. This is a standout song on the album.

After that was “Far,” a gorgeous, soft ballad that showcases and spotlights Sukh’s power and delivery. With a slightly unique tone and cadence, this song makes you want to close your eyes and immerse yourself in the stunning vocal display. He is his own harmony section—the vocals are that powerful and beautiful. Utilizing soft, screaming guitars, there’s an original rock ‘n’ roll styling that you just can’t miss. We literally fell head over heels for this artist when we heard the lyric, “You know I love you like the strawberry sun.”

Lastly, we checked out “If You Are,” which was a terrific choice for this artist to put his abilities front and center for all the world to hear. Propelled by a masterful synth, the Latin musical arrangement and vocals are expertly mixed to 100% captivate the listener. As the song builds, you get a sense of anxiety because you just want to experience the combination that is no doubt going to be beautiful. As you get lost in this song, the sounds ricochet inside your head, leaving you wanting more from this incredible artist.

Artist Spotlight: Sukh's “Heading East” Takes You on a Journey of Love

Sukh is shaking things up with his new album “Heading East,” a bold departure from his previous record, “Age of Strangers.” This time around, he’s diving headfirst into the world of classic songwriting, exploring the intricacies of long-term relationships and that companionate love that really hits home.

This album is all about navigating the ups and downs of life together, shining a light on what happens after that initial thrill wears off. Sukh wanted to create something more optimistic, flipping the script from his earlier work and giving listeners a breath of fresh air. The lyrics are dense and raw, packed with emotion as he teams up once again with his longtime collaborator and producer, Rox Capriotti from the band “Shape of Water.” Together, they’ve crafted a record that delves into a timeless human necessity—connection.

What makes “Heading East” even more intriguing is that it comes in two distinct versions. The original tracks were recorded years ago but never released, and instead of tossing them out, Sukh decided to revisit, rework, and reimagine them. Both versions are set to drop over the coming months, giving fans a unique peek into his creative evolution.

In essence, “Heading East” isn’t just an album; it’s a heartfelt exploration of love that resonates with anyone who's navigated the complexities of a long-term relationship. Sukh invites you to join him on this emotional journey, and trust us—you won’t want to miss it.
