Carey Clayton's Headless takes us on a futuristic musical journey, and it is ethereal magic. A full, surround-sound movie score meets space-like, digital sounds. Combine this with the intense feel of human emotions, taking your breath away.

Headless pushes boundaries and creates an environment to open one's mind. Much as concept cars are the ideas of tomorrow, this was designed as the future of music today. If Pink Floyd were to create their first album today, they would be envious of this melodic and wonderful creation and how it is absolutely exhilarating and also has no predecessor.

Based on insights derived from meditation and mindfulness practice, the album is musically the sound of our thoughts thrust forward. We feel like we are creating the sound with our feelings, and then the music transports listeners' psyche to another realm. The masterful use of dynamics creates a sonic journey, ebbing and flowing between intense energy and serene introspection. Each track unfolds like a vivid dream, with unexpected twists and turns that captivate the audience throughout the entire album. The production quality is impeccable, with every element carefully crafted to create a rich, immersive soundscape. The attention to detail is evident in the subtle layering of sounds, creating depth and complexity that rewards multiple listens. Does this sound like the feeling you might get from ingesting hallucinogenic substances? Then you are 1000% in line with my observations, although this listen allows you to be on this journey without having to partake.

A standout track on this incredible album is "Light On." The vocals are as outstanding as the rest and rise above and beyond. They possess a whimsical but very serious tone that carries like wind from Carey Clayton's lungs. The musical arrangement is part classical and part folk, and it meets in the middle with beauty and musical expertise.

"Infinite Figure" has a dragging beat and an introspective lyrical demonstration. With lyrical expressions like, "Living in suspension, severed from this reality," its intention is to make you sit back and actively absorb its message. The synths really blended well with the vocals, and that made it exciting.

"Future In A Past Life" has a bassy backbone that instantly captivates. 'Pattern of Motions' uses a musical raindrop effect followed by whispery vocals and then the drums are orgasmic.

"The Gate" rumbles through the door like a movie score with the wind blowing in the hair of our protagonist and then drags you in and out of a surreal consciousness.

"Mirage" is an R&B (even we went … WOW!) fused ethereal falsetto and jazz-riddled track. Wait for the guitar solo, auuugh love it! I'm almost ready to choose this as my #1, but I bet I will change my mind in 30 seconds.

"Point of View" says goodbye (unless you hit the repeat button) to this amazing and exceptionally performed creation. "Maybe there's no point of view in life". If we have music like this, then there's a point of view to enjoy this!

You can't go anywhere on this album and be disappointed. It's a playlist on its own, and all you need to do is hit play.

This album is so impressively performed. If you are seeking new sounds and boundary-breaking music, then this album is a must-listen, a definite playlist addition, and a must-share that friends will forever remember. You found Carey Clayton's album, 'Headless.'
