Rising multi-genre star Hoodie Allen has released his Pop-Punk single “Call Me Never”. Catchy melodies in both the verses and choruses paired with distorted guitars and hard-hitting punk drums make it a Pop-Punk hit. The song takes a lot of influence from Allen’s predecessors, such as Panic at the Disco! and Twenty One Pilots, whom he has also opened for on previous tours. He even has had the opportunity to work with Fall Out Boy and State Champs and Mark Hoppus of Blink-182.

Themes of heartbreak, endless love and toxicity tie this track into an angsty rendition of a 21st-century relationship with its fair share of ups and downs.

About the lyrics of the song Allen says, "We tell ourselves lies to get over someone and we tell that someone that we’d be better off alone but yet if we were over it, we wouldn't need to keep the conversation going...but despite the high energy fast-paced sing-along, it is still ultimately about a weak moment that you can't shake.

This rang especially true in the bridge, where the song breaks down and openly expresses his inner conflict and lets it show through his explosive vocal performance.

If “Call Me Never” is any indication of what's to come on his upcoming 8-track album, then Hoodie Allen is poised to make waves in the Pop-Punk genre. It is a certified banger for fans of any classic Punk-Pop. He is currently finishing his 2022 tour, with dates through the end of August.
