Arrows releases “Carnaby” and it's an instant classic!
With a beautiful flowing folk sound and a taste of big band “Carnaby” feat. Saurabh Roy and Bombay Brass killed it with an official classic in my opinion. I have always loved brass ever since Chuck Mangione, the Bee Gees (any 70s disco really), and my dad’s saxophone when I was kid, so this song instantly grabbed me.
The collaboration checks so many boxes. The vocals are danceable and smooth with beautiful harmonies and a tempo that literally builds on each note of this wonderful band's performance.
The lyrics “Shining in my head” are so catchy they are literally stuck in my head.
The beats are a mixture of jazz and rock, and the gentle stick taps bring so much out especially halfway through (it's amazing how the minutest details are always so relevant). The arrangement is big and I felt the whole performance is crisp and beautifully engineered.
Just in case you didn't know, this is another fabulous creation spearheaded by David Britto and the collaborative music project of Arrows. This song was released as the second single of the forthcoming five-track debut EP Friends Tonight, Strangers Again. The song called "Carnaby" features Bombay Brass and Saurabh Roy (from The Lightyears Explode).
