Andrew Alarcon, known for his intricate and deeply layered writing, delivers another powerful piece with "Silent Veil." The music video is set against the backdrop of a rainy urban night, where we find ourselves driving through dark, desolate streets. Alarcon’s haunting delivery sets the tone for a protagonist who appears weary, frustrated, and possibly on the edge of something dangerous. The visuals show a parked car in an empty lot, followed by an individual standing on a rooftop, feet positioned as if to jump.

The song itself is exceptional, with a strong musical arrangement that perfectly complements the weight of the message. It captivates the listener, pulling them into the unfolding narrative, leaving a sense of suspense about what will happen next. As the plot progresses, we soon realize that Alarcon is the one on the roof, but the identity of the motorcyclist circling him remains unknown. The presence of the motorcyclist adds a layer of tension, as we wonder if they will intervene in the protagonist’s fate. The motorcycle follows him everywhere, heightening his anxiety and concern.

The video spans a large landscape, with stunning editing and haunting visuals that give it a cinematic quality. The only difficulty in reviewing this piece is the challenge of not giving away too much. After watching the entire video, we are left astounded and deeply impressed by this work, but we don’t want to spoil it. You truly need to experience this for yourself in a quiet, reflective setting to absorb the full intensity of the message.

Vocally, Alarcon delivers with a clear, crisp tone, yet there's a rawness that matches the visuals of a rough, rainy night. His unique vocal style carries a sense of melancholy and sadness, perfectly supporting the song’s theme. The powerful message of "Silent Veil" offers a poignant lesson about life, one that resonates long after the final note. This is another incredible work from Alarcon, both musically and visually.

We see a lot of potential and a bright future for this artist, and we absolutely believe they will be exploring many different areas. Their ability to convey a message and seamlessly connect it to both music and visuals is endlessly captivating. In this particular case, it’s impossible to predict the outcome, which makes it all the more engaging. We are truly looking forward to more from this tremendous artist.

Andrew Alarcon, a Paraguayan-American singer-songwriter based in Nassau, NY, presents his latest single, "Silent Veil", a haunting track that delves deep into the concept of emotional detachment. The song addresses the illusion of progress or betterment, portraying a character who conceals their true struggles behind a metaphorical "veil." Alarcon explores how we sometimes hide our flaws or pain from ourselves and others, believing we’ve found peace or relief, only to realize it's a false or temporary sense of security.

In the music video, directed by Alyssa Kim Ang, the visuals match the song’s theme. Set in a bleak, rainy parking lot, Alarcon encounters a mysterious figure on a motorcycle, dressed entirely in black. The hazy, subtle soundscapes mirror the isolated and detached setting, suggesting we are not in the real world, but in a space where negativity and emotional conflict reside.

Reflecting on his own journey, Alarcon shares how the content of "Silent Veil" and his upcoming album ‘Frenzy’ is shaped by his mental health journey. He began going to therapy during the pandemic and has found that it has had a profound influence on his songwriting. “I had absolutely no idea just how much therapy was helping with my songwriting, but it was,” says Alarcon. This introspective approach allows him to experiment with new textures and arrangements, offering a more expansive sound than his previous work.

As Alarcon poignantly states, "No matter how much we try to escape ourselves, we’re always right beside ourselves," encapsulating the emotional depth and self-reflection behind Silent Veil.
