Alex McArtor releases “In the Dark” and strikes hard with a classy and tantalizing appeal.

The opening beat is easily mistaken for our own heartbeat thumping harder in our chest as we experience this song, causing our blood pressure to rise. Imagine yourself in a large coliseum with Alex McArtor commanding this incredible stage with poise and absolutely blasting powerhouse vocals. We can’t emphasize how much Alex's voice soars above and beyond in this performance. The musical arrangement is like a pop-inspired symphony, with the main instrument of Alex’s voice leading the path. It's the type of song that makes you want to close your eyes and lose yourself in the music. This song gave us a feeling of personal empowerment, and we could not stop hyper-fixating on the perfection in the mix and choice of production to create this flawless recording. This song was created to inspire us to have a movie without images in our minds. The listener is overshadowed like a net, leaving images on our mind. What's also really impressive about "In the Dark" is how it manages to blend pop sensibilities with a more alternative edge. It has that radio-friendly appeal, but something raw and authentic about it sets it apart from your typical chart-topper. Alex isn't just going through the motions – she's pouring her heart and soul into every note. In the middle of the song, theren synths, and th is a break, theen there is this powerful and explosive declaration, “You’ll search for me In all your lover’s eyes Hoping that you’ll find our flame, But it never burns twice.” We fell hard for this song when we heard it twice: Once because of the lyrics and and once because of the vocal delivery. Together, they are magic.

As you listen on, the track's intensity builds with each passing moment, drawing you deeper into its hypnotic rhythm. The production is slick without being overproduced, letting Alex's vocals take center stage while still creating this rich, layered soundscape. It's the kind of track that reveals new details with each listen, making you want to hit that replay button repeatedly.

We must credit Grammy Award-nominated producer Benny Cassette for allowing Alex McArtor's “In the Dark” inspiration to come to fruition. It’s a beautifully crafted work of art.
